Established in 1969, IDI is an exclusive educational conservatory with a specialized four-month curricula that certifies its students, upon graduation, as professional interior designers. IDI's instructors are all practicing and credentialed professional interior designers.

IDI offer students and interior decorators who are not in practice for themselves a UNIQUE EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITY. Unlike colleges and universities, who primarily prepare you to get a job - IDI prepares you to have a profitable career. Today, approximately 90% of interior designers and decorators are independent design practitioners, not employees! With over 35 years experience teaching students, we know the skills that are essential to your success. We prepare you for "real world" operations!

The profession of Interior Design is EXCITING! Each new project offers the designer a trip into the unknown. With every client, new creative challenges emerge and it is our responsibility as practitioners to understand and meet these challenges. We are called upon to fulfill clients' needs through both function and aesthetics. To accomplish this requires designers to be imaginative and practical - a unique combination one would say ... and it's true.

Whether you are 25, 45 or 65, you can enter into the Wonderful World of Interior Design by enrolling in IDI's innovative and affordable design program. Class sizes are limited to insure individualized attention.

IDI has earned the reputation as one of the highest quality, most affordable decorating certificate programs in the Southern California. In addition to the many credentials held by our instructors, Interior Decorators Institute has professional memberships in the Interior Design Educators Council, the Better Business Bureau, Interior Design Society and IDI is sanctioned by the California Department of Consumer Affairs, Bureau for Private Postsecondary and Vocational Education.

When an interior environment is properly designed and fashioned to improve our activities, our activities respond with greater productivity, better health, improved behavior and an enhanced quality of life and happiness. Since approximately 90% of our lives take place on the inside of a building or vehicle, the impact of interior design is second to none.
